It’s the question on everyone’s lips. Everyone within online media circles that is. It’s now cool to quit facebook within certain communities but as i pointed out yesterday, there’s a lot of reasons why you shouldn’t quit Facebook. Anyway, i’ve helped set up a site which answers this exact question… “Should i delete my facebook?”…
When i say this is a ‘simple’ site, i really mean it. Things don’t get much simpler than this
On the homepage, you’re greeted by a large ‘yes’ or ‘no’. The answer is calculated based on user votes. If more users vote ‘no’ than ‘yes’, the answer changes to ‘No’. If more users vote ‘Yes’ than ‘No’, the answer changes to ‘yes’. For example, right now we’ve got 87 votes and 52% of those 87 are ‘No’ votes.
To help answer the question or cast your vote, just click on the large ‘No’ and then you get two options – ‘Yes’ or ‘No’. Choose one. It’s that simple. The number of votes cast is displayed in the left footer area whilst a question mark in the right footer area will take you to a page briefly explaining what the site is all about (which i’ve already explained here so no need to visit that!).
The site was built by Ross Beale who got in touch with me a while back about a completely different project. Over the last few days though this idea came to us, Ross built the site in the blink of an eye and i helped him out today.
There you have it… shouldideletemyfacebook.com. It’s simple, it’s a hot topic, it’s controlled by the people and it helps answer a question a lot of people are asking lately… what’s not to like?!
By the way, i hooked up with Ross THROUGH FACEBOOK. We talked ON FACEBOOK. We got the idea for the site BECAUSE OF FACEBOOK. If i had quit facebook, none of that would have happened… just another example of why i won’t quit facebook 🙂
Hi Sean. You've left out the important third answer. “It doesn't matter.” Once data is on the internet, it is there…..as long as there is an internet. Other than that, it is a great web site. Very Zen. Less is more.
