I’ve developed websites for sports clubs, pubs & restaurants, architects, florists, office supply companies and many more. I specialise in WordPress – the open source content management system. Over 20% of all websites online are powered by WordPress so there’s a good chance it’s capable of doing what you need.
How does it all work?
You contact me, I listen, I ask some questions (usually face to face), I do some research on your company / your existing site and I give you an estimate. Once we’re both ready to proceed, we finalise what’s needed, we agree upon a plan of action and I then get to work on some wireframes / sketches / prototypes to help bring the project to life.
Depending on the complexity of the project and your needs, I may use project management software which allows us to communicate easily on various aspects of the project and also enables us both to monitor progress on a day to day basis.
Here’s a more detailed breakdown of the web development process in 5 main stages:
1. Planning
Initial meeting to establish requirements (can sometimes be done by email / phone)
I give you quote
We sign a contract / plan of action
2. Design
I work on wireframes / prototypes
You give me feedback (I make changes, you give me more feedback and the cycle continues until you’re happy)
3. Development
Work starts on a live, working prototype
Content is added
Functionality is tested
4. Launch
Final testing & review
Once we’re both happy, site is transferred to live server
5. Post-Launch
We meet to review project
I provide documentation / training
