Just 6 weeks ago Steve Jobs stepped down as Apple’s CEO. Yesterday, he died from pancreatic cancer. At the time i wrote a blog post (which in hindsight actually reads like an obituary), but that’s how big a loss Steve Jobs was to Apple as their CEO…
Now that he’s gone, the show must go on for Apple but he is to them what Henry Ford is to Ford or what Alex Ferguson is to Man Utd… people who will inspire for many years to come, dead or alive. He was one of those guys… Technology wouldn’t be what it is today were it not for him.
It’s not too often someone who’s had such a huge impact on technology dies (because most founders & CEOs in the industry are still relatively young), so that’s probably why there’s a sense of shock, even though most people knew he didn’t have long left.
