My ferrari is 2 years old…

2 years ago, i spent €1850 on a laptop. But not just any laptop 😉 A ferrari branded laptop.. Here’s a picture of her today – good as new, you can see i’m watching tennis in wimbledon at the minute due to the reflection on the laptop’s shiney carbon fibre lid 😛

The fact you can see youself in the laptop’s cover shows how well i’ve cared for it 😎

I use a microfibre cloth to get rid of dust and LCD wipes to clean the screen and keyboard etc.. This is where the magic happens.. i use the Ferrari and only the Ferrari to work on. We do have a desktop here in the house, but i never use it, it’s too slow for my liking.

On average, i’d say the Ferrari has been on 6 hours a day for the last 2 years, so you can’t say it hasn’t been pushed to the max. Anyway, i hope to hang on to this laptop for good. How could you sell a Ferrari; all the memories 😥

It will do me for another year or so, but after that, i think i’ll be needing an upgrade. Depending on how my online ventures go, i may need to get a desktop and proper office stuff like a desk and swivel chair, dual monitors etc.. But i’ll not be doing that until i can pay for it 🙄

  1. I have an Acer Ferrari 3200. Bought it November 2004. I’ve upped it to 2gb RAM in this time. It runs an average 16 hours a day, five days a week, and 6 hours a day each weekend throughout that seventeen month period, which is pretty hard-going. It’s overheated twice and blown a gig of ram on each occasion. And it’s crashed twice in last 48 hours from overheating, which is a very rare occurance. 50% of the alpha keys have been worn off from use, the amd/ati/windows stickers are all worn off, and the cd-rom drive died about 1.5 years ago. But it’s my baby, and it’s ferrari red on the hood, not like your diluted black version! Huzzah!

  2. yeah the stickers have melted off mine too  The keys are all still visible though 😎

it’s yet to crash on me due to overheating.. i try to switch it off for 5/10mins every 5 hours or so, the touchpad area can get super hot 😉

the 3200 is probably the ‘classic’ ferrari laptop – red, 4:3 screen.. i was going to buy on but decided to hold on for a few months and get this black 4005wlmi.. the carbon fibre sold it for me as did the widescreen.. black is also that bit understated..

i figured taking a red laptop out in public was a deliberate attempt to get people to look at you 😛 At least a black laptop can blend into the background at times 🙂
