Eduardo Injury Against Birmingham

Arsenal’s Eduardo just suffered a horrific ankle injury tonight against Birmingham – so bad, SKY tv wouldn’t even show replays. I’m delighted Arsenal drew tonight, having suffered a last gasp penalty against them, but spare a thought for Eduardo – i can only hope that’s not a career ending tackle.

Notice the ankle almost snapping at a 90 degree angle – that’s gotta hurt 😐

From looking at the tackle in real time, (seen no replays yet), it didn’t actually look like a deliberate attempt to cause injury, it was clumsy more so than anything else and you can see that taylor is looking away as he tackles, suggesting it wasn’t deliberate but he couldn’t stop himself from following through… he was sent off anyway – straight red card.

Players all around instantly hounded the referee, and seeing an ankle in that sort of state, i don’t think the referee had much of a choice

No malice intended in my opinion, straight red was deserved as it was late but Eduardo was just too quick and skillful for him. great shame but these injuries do happen.

  2. They showed this on the Premiership on RTE last night and it was disgusting.

Having aid that I also feel no malice intended. Its sport and these things happen

  3. Taylor is a flipping tool. Should get banned for an extended period of time – sure, these things happen but there’s no need to go in a foot off the ground, no matter how quick Dudu was. 👿 😡

  4. Oh dear, this is just unbearable. Football is – and should remain – entertainment, not war. Let’s all pray Eduardo gets over the injury, whatever length of time it involves.
