Christmas 2010

christmas present

It’s getting easier and easier to get online around Christmas time. Once upon a time it was anti-social to be online at Christmas time… between skype & facebook and a general shift of the masses towards online communication, the internet has become a new telephone & TV of sorts… it connects people & it entertains them and between laptops, desktops & phones / ipads the internet (in some capacity) is almost always nearby in every house…

Presents

What would Christmas be without presents? Material or in another form, that’s what Christmas is all about. The younger you are the more physical gifts (visible, plastic, hardware) matter. The older you are the less that stuff matters because you’re counting how many of these days you have left on the planet and tend to appreciate them more.

Anyway, i mentioned this on twitter quietly a few weeks ago, but i’m heading to Barcelona for a match in the Nou Camp from January 14th – 17th with my father and uncle. I was there 4 years ago and loved the city although at the time my memory card self destructed on the very last day. That got me in to the world of recovery software and luckily i had enough knowledge to recover 90% of the pictures i took. I couldn’t recover any video though although it would have been crap quality anyway, no HD in those days.

We’d also booked a tour of the Nou Camp back then but were turned away because we arrived about half an hour too late so i never actually got to see inside it and that was going to be one of the highlights of the trip for me. I said i’d be back one day and well, now i will be heading back 🙂 I can promise loads of video and pictures too, in HD…

Anyway, that’s enough blogging for today, i’m off to enjoy the rest of the day offline…
