I’ve been domain name hunting tonight. I do it every so often.
As you know, 99% of sensible, one/two/three word domain names and more have been snapped up. Most of them are left to sit at landing pages in the hope they’ll net the buyer a quick buck.
I don’t normally go for anything other than a .com, mainly because they are worth more in my eyes. .info, .biz etc just don’t look good. If a seen a .info as the number 1 search result in google, i’d bypass it as i know it’s either a landing page or keyword-rich junk page.
However i’ve broken my own rules and gone with a .net domain name. I’m sure you’ll agree it’s a major steal though.
roykeane.net – i’ll probably make a blog, fill it with videos, facts, statistics etc.. let it sit for a year or two, then sell it on or i might just keep it. As a Utd & Celtic fan, and being Irish, the domain was too good to resist.
