So let’s assume we have 1% of people who miss-spell beerchief.com and end up at beercheif.com.
Assuming we get 1m hits/month, thats 10,000 people a month who go astray. Are 10,000 people/month, possibly more, worth $8 a year to us? And that’s when i decided to register beercheif.com.
Sure, most of that 10,000 would realize their mistake and enter the domain correctly, but some, even if it’s just a few, won’t bother correcting their mistake and for $8 a year we’ll knock that potential problem on the head.
So a big thanks to zigire who suggested this in the comments.. i had thought about it before but never examined it in detail. ‘Ha’ then caught my attention by saying he’d bought beercheif.com which i guess egged me on to do more research so i have to thank ‘Ha’ also 
I’ve also registered beerchief.co.uk. You may wonder why i’m going mad with all of these domain name purchases.. it’s partly because i want to protect BeerChief, but also because i can get 10% of all godaddy stuff with the code ‘CHRIS1′. As far as i know it runs until 7/7/07.
So if you’re looking to cybersquat a beerchief domain, the .com .net .org .biz .eu .info .co.uk are all taken, plus the most miss-spelt .com is also taken
I can safely say that over time, nobody is going to beat us for the keywords ‘BeerChief’
