free accounting software that rocks

I found myself on the hunt recently for some accounting software that can handle quotes, invoices, expenses… that kinda thing. The problem with most of these products is that they’re either completely overkill or else pretty expensive. If you just want to organise stuff (business or personal) in a more sophisticated fashion than dumping it all in to files and folders or one big excel sheet, you’re kinda stuck… you don’t want to be paying €100+/year, yet you realise the value dedicated accounting software could bring… the solution? Manager.io – free accounting software that works beautifully.

Business banking with Bank of Ireland

There are a lot of terribly designed, buggy and useless sites and applications out there. I can deal with a useful service that looks like crap… eflow.ie would be a good example. It provides a useful service but it’s just terribly designed. It gets a job done but leaves you feeling angry at how awkward the whole experience / process was… for those of you who don’t know what eflow.ie is, it allows you to register your car number plates, add a credit card and any time you pass through the M50 toll, you’ll be billed automatically as opposed to having to manually pay in a shop somewhere before 8pm the next day or whatever the rules are…

where have my creative commons photos been used?

The majority of photos I upload online are uploaded to my Flickr account. I now have over 8,500 photos there and all of them have a commercial creative commons licence, meaning they can be used by pretty much anyone. Technically under that licence attribution is required but i really don’t care about attribution, i find it fascinating seeing how and where people use my images but of course it’s nice to get credit for them too…
